About the Author…

CC McArdle’s twitter handle describes her perfectly. She is a writer, grad student and recovering hockey mom who is pleasantly awkward, unintentionally funny and 100% Filipino.

New to the world of authors, she writes fictional stories about people coping and surviving, exploring the what-if and should’ve been. Her current novel, The Rice Jars, is a passion project, a fictional account of her grandmother’s experiences in World War II in a Japanese occupied Philippines. Her grandmother passed before she relayed the complete story, so Christine fills in the blanks with an imagined retelling that channels her grandmother’s strength and resilience.

A Philippine native, she grew up in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington D.C. She currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri with two very goofy dogs and one very smart cat. When she is not writing, she is watching professional hockey, college hockey or movies about hockey.
